The U.S. Air Force announced recently that Chief Master Sgt. David R. Wolfe took the helm as the 21 Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force, effective Nov. 6.

Officials said Wolfe’s experience and performance make him a key addition to the Air Force leadership team. Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach said Wolfe has a passion for airmen and their families.

“Chief Wolfe has been my wingman, advisor and confidant for multiple command assignments,” Wilsbach said. “Cindy and I are delighted to have Dave and Doniel alongside us as we lead the Air Force. Their passion for Airmen and their families is second to none.”

Previously, Wolfe was Command Chief Master Sergeant, Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, where he served as the principal advisor to Wilsbach and Air Combat Command staff on issues impacting the “well-being, morale and optimal employment of all personnel,” officials said.

Wolfe began his career in February 1992 and has experience in missile security, elite guard duty, protective services and space warning security. Officials said he has demonstrated his commitment to national security and has expertise in training and standardization evaluation, security forces operations, logistics and professional military education.

“The selection of Chief Wolfe as our 21st Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force is the right decision during this critical time for the Air Force,” Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink said. “I know that he will continue to serve and advocate for Airmen and their families.”

Wolfe will serve as the voice of Air Force personnel to all levels of government and will act as an advisor to Wilsbach and other senior military and civilian leaders. His duties will be to provide counsel on issues surrounding the welfare, readiness, morale, utilization and professional development of the Air Force’s Airmen, as well as set the court for the Total Force and serve as a dedicated personnel advocate.
