Battelle to showcase new defense technologies at Sea Air Space Show

Battelle is set to showcase its new anti-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) device, DroneDefender, along with other new technologies at the Sea Air Space Show from May 16-18.

DroneDefender is the first man-portable system to provide critical security protection against small UAS devices. The system uses radio control frequency disruption to safely stop drones in the air before they can pose a threat to military or civilian safety. The cost-effective, portable system has shown a demonstrated range of approximately 400 meters. Nearly 100 units have already been sold to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Proteus, another technology that will be displayed at the show, is a dual-mode undersea vehicle that can operate by human control or autonomously. The vehicle recently completed an endurance testing to demonstrate reliability and performance under long-duration missions for the U.S. Navy.

Battelle’s HorizonVue M360 Video System utilizes one of Battelle’s 360-degree cameras and an interactive viewing software system that provides unique situational awareness, allowing undersea operators to continuously monitor complex operating environments. The device can monitor at a depth-rated 4,500 meters and allows operators to capture the same view that would normally require six to nine cameras in operation to achieve the same result.

The devices have not been authorized by rules of the Federal Communications Commissions and may only be sold directly to the United States government and its agencies.
