Blighter Surveillance Systems makes appointments to protect infrastructure in Middle East petrochemical markets

Blighter Surveillance Systems, Ltd., made two appointments on Wednesday to assist the company in targeting the oil, gas and petrochemical markets with its Blighter B400 Series e-scan doppler radar and long-range thermal camera surveillance solution.

The Blighter B400 doppler radar delivers all-weather persistent surveillance capabilities that Blighter utilizes to protect critical infrastructure in the area.

Roy Cummings, formerly of AMG Systems, was appointed to Blighter’s sales team and will be responsible for critical infrastructure protection. Prior to his appointment, Cummings spent 30 years in the security systems and CCTV markets in such countries as Bahrain, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Blighter also appointed a Middle Eastern partner and distributor, Electroman, to focus exclusively on critical infrastructure sites in Oman.

“We are seeing growing interest in our high reliability doppler radar and thermal imaging systems for protecting oil and gas facilities due to their effectiveness and their cost saving potential,” Mark Radford, CEO at Blighter, said. “For example, manning levels have been reduced substantially where our radar/camera systems are employed instead of fence-line and CCTV solutions. Furthermore, the ongoing threat of terrorism at oil and gas wells, pipelines and pumping stations, processing facilities, and distribution hubs is also prompting security managers at critical infrastructure sites to consider our high reliability solution.”
