U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently began recruiting military veterans under veterans’ recruitment appointment (RA) announcements for multiple CBP positions at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport complex.
The announcements began on Nov. 8 and are open for a 41-day period, concluding on Dec. 19.
“This is great opportunity for veterans to join the CBP workforce and continue to serve their country within the Los Angeles area,” said CBP Director of Field Operations in Los Angeles Carlos C. Martel. “CBP offers a rewarding career with advancement opportunities and a great benefits package.”
CBP said the starting salaries for officers ranges between $36,076 (GS-5), $44,689 (GS-7) and $54,664 (GS-9) with noncompetitive increases up to $103,053 (GS-12/10). There are no restrictions for veterans’ preference eligibles.
CBP said interested military veterans should visit CBP’s veterans’ web site for more information on recruitment.
