Cobalt Light Systems announced last week that it has launched its new Insight200M liquid explosive detection system.
“We are pleased to release the Insight200M, which builds on the success of the Insight100 series,” Cobalt Light Systems CEO Dr. Paul Loeffen said. “We understand the operational needs of airports and have further improved the false alarm rate to reduce inconvenience to passengers and airport operations while making the Insight200M smaller and more readily integrated into checkpoint layouts.”
Developed with support from the U.S. government and Innovate UK, the new system retains the same benefits of the Insight100 at a reduced size and weight. Additionally, the new systems allows for better detection for all container types, including metal containers at extremely low false alarm rates. Designed for high reliability and easy use with minimal training, the Insight200M can also potentially identify the type of threat material.
The Insight200M has been approved for screening of items under 100ml by the UK Department for Transport and has been shown operationally in trials to have no issues screening partially filled containers. The new system is fully compatible with Cobalt Light Systems’ overview networking product.
