ICE names Marlon Miller as agent in charge of Philadelphia HSI office

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently named Marlon Miller as the new special agent in charge of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office for three states.

Miller’s office will be based in Philadelphia and will have jurisdiction over operations in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia. Miller has more than 25 years of national and international law enforcement experience.

HSI agents are tasked with protecting national security and ensuring compliance with immigration and customs laws by conducting criminal investigations involving cybercrime, child exploitation, human trafficking, intellectual property rights, drug smuggling, illegal exporting munitions, high-tech devices, money laundering, financial crimes, and transnational organized crime.

“I look forward to leading a group of talented special agents and support staff in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware,” said Miller. “Philadelphia is like a second home to me. Before I started my federal career in Philly, I was a scholarship athlete for the Hawks Basketball team and completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at St. Joseph’s University. I’m vested in this community and I look forward to working with our law enforcement partners from the various local, state and federal agencies to help safeguard our country.”

Prior to his appointment to the Philadelphia office, Miller served as the special agent in charge at HSI Detroit, which oversees operations in both Michigan and Ohio. From there, Miller ran a number of HSI interagency task forces to target cross-border organized crime that exploited travel, commercial trade, and financial systems in the Michigan-Canadian border region.
