FLIR Systems awarded $50 mln contract for marine electronics systems for US Coast Guard vessels

FLIR Systems, Inc. was recently awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth approximately $50 million to provide marine electronics systems under the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) Scalable Integrated Navigation Systems 2 (SINS-2) program.

The contract covers a five-year period and provides the purchaser the right to extend delivery for an additional five years.

As part of the contract FLIR will provide electronics systems to fit in more than 2,000 USCG vessels, ranging from small-class boats through large cutter-class vessels.

FLIR’s systems will include Raymarine multi-function navigation displays, sonars, radars, remote instrument displays, and autopilots. The systems will be fully integrated with the Raymarine LightHouse operating system, which offers pre-programmed search and rescue patterns. The LightHouse-based SINS-2 system features advanced target intercept tools and encrypted communications.

SINS-2 products offer integrating with existing FLIR M-Series SeaFLIR thermal imaging cameras currently in use by USCG cutters and boats.
