CBP Air and Marine Operations names new director for Texas center

William Durham

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations recently announced the selection of William Allen Durham as the new director of the National Air Security Operations Center in Corpus Christi, Texas (NASOC – Corpus Christi).

As director of the center, Durham will lead the center in the interdiction of contraband headed to the U.S. via source and transit zones found in international waters.

He will oversee the center’s P-3 operations in which a fleet of P-3 aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) conduct operations throughout North and South America in defense of U.S. borders. The Corpus Christi center houses one of CBP’s two P-3 operations wings.

“I am honored to serve as the director at NASOC – Corpus Christi,” Durham said. “Having served at this center before, coupled with my various experience with CBP’s Air and Marine component, I look forward to the added responsibility of overseeing the center’s operations. I also look forward to continuing our successful partnership with the Naval Air Station, other federal, state and local law enforcement and the local community.”

Prior to his new role, Durham served as the Director of Air Operations at the McAllen Air and Marine Branch in McAllen, Texas. He has worked with CBP for 19 years. Durham began his public service in 1985 flying P-3 aircraft with Navy’s VP-17 Patrol Squadron at Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii.
