Engility Holdings to provide chemical, biological defense expertise under new DoD contract

The Department of Defense (DoD) recently granted Engility Holdings Inc. a position on the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) Joint Enterprise Research Development Acquisition and Procurement Omnibus contract.

JPEO-CBD manages the military’s investments in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) and high-yield explosives defense products. It is comprised of five directorates, including contamination avoidance, guardian, information systems, protection, and medical countermeasure systems.

The JEO-CBD’s Joint Enterprise Research Development Acquisition and Procurement Omnibus contract is an $8 billion, multi-award vehicle. It funds the design and development of CBRN and explosives defense systems and equipment.

“For decades, the DoD has relied on Engility for high-end CBRNE expertise, and this contract is a great opportunity to expand our relationship and deliver the latest capabilities,” Scott Whatmough, the senior vice president of defense and security group at Engility, said. “Through these contract task orders, we’ll couple our systems engineering expertise with a manufacturing capability to produce unique solutions to help solve the government’s most difficult CBRNE challenges.”

Engility current contracts with the DoD through Joint Enterprise Omnibus Professional Engineering and Technical Support and the Joint Enterprise Contracted Logistics and Services Support contracts.
