Boatright named Chief Patrol Agent of the Big Bend Sector

Acting Chief of the United States Border Patrol Carla Provost recently announced that Robert L. Boatright was named the new Chief Patrol Agent of the Big Bend Sector.

“I am looking forward to working with the Border Patrol Agents and professional support staff of the Big Bend Sector as well as all of our community stakeholders and law enforcement partners throughout the region,” Boatright said.

Throughout his career with the Border Patrol, Chief Boatright has served in many locations and positions. He began his career in 1990 at the Imperial Beach Station in the San Diego Sector.

In August 2008, he was chosen as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and was one of the first two Deputy Chiefs at the SES level within the U.S. Border Patrol.

Chief Boatright has had numerous temporary duty assignments during his Border Patrol career. He served three assignments as the acting deputy chief for law enforcement operations at the U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he served as the acting chief patrol agent of the Laredo Sector.

The Big Bend Sector is responsible for 510 miles of the Southwest Border between Sierra Blanca and Sanderson, Texas.
