Agency seeks national security solutions

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is requesting input on concepts for advanced research, development, and demonstration of systems for military missions regarding national security.

The agency’s Tactical Technology Office will host a Virtual Proposers Day June 6-7 to provide information through pre-recorded videos about TTO’s goals and areas for investment in advance of a mid-June release of the 2018 Disruptive Capabilities for Future Warfare Broad Agency Announcement (BAA).

“We want ideas that upset the enterprise, unexpected approaches that could fundamentally change the way we develop, design, build, deploy and operate military systems,” Fred Kennedy, director of DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office, said. “Don’t be afraid to challenge the most basic assumptions about how we fight, and what we give our warfighters to fight with. Proposers Day is the perfect opportunity to float a novel concept that takes us in completely different directions, and just might lead to a strong proposal.”

DARPA officials said TTO is looking for orthogonal approaches, coming at a problem from a new angle, driving enterprise disruption within, beyond, and across the seams of traditional warfighting domains on the ground, at sea, in the air, and in space.

Officials said event information and more details on the forthcoming BAA are available at events.sa-meetings.com/ehome/index.php?eventid=325719&.
