Raytheon ranks fourth on Cybersecurity 500

In a worldwide ranking of the most innovative cybersecurity companies, Raytheon, based in Waltham, Massachusetts, ranked fourth.

The rankings, called the Cybersecurity 500, is conducted by Cybersecurity Ventures, a cybersecurity research and publishing company. Raytheon’s high ranking was attributed to several factors, including an expansion of its cybersecurity customer base internationally. Raytheon also won several big contracts, including one awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The DHS contract was to protect the nation’s .gov domain, the networks of more than 100 federal government agencies, state and local governments, and 16 infrastructure sectors vital to U.S. national security.

“We offer cybersecurity solutions to our global customers by integrating our defense industry knowledge and capabilities with some of the most advanced commercial technologies,” Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services, said. “This honor recognizes and confirms our unique strategy.”

Steve Morgan, founder and editor-in-chief of Cybersecurity Ventures, said Raytheon’s continual expansion, key industry partnerships, thought leadership and contributions to advancing STEM education led to their high placement on the Cybersecurity 500.

Tops on the list was the Herjavec Group Information Security Services based in Toronto, Canada, followed by KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training from Clearwater, Florida, and CyberArk Privileged Access Security from Petach-Tikva, Israel in third.

Raytheon was followed in the top 10 by Cisco, IBM Security, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, FireEye Advanced Threat Protection, and Lockheed Martin.
