KBR acquires $36.5 million missile systems contract

KBRwyle, a subsidiary of professional services and technology provider KBR, Inc., has been awarded a $36.5 million Air Force Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA) missiles system contract.

Officials said KBRwyle would provide sustainment engineering support to the 414th Supply Chain Management Squadron, aiding the LGM-30G Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and all associated ground and support equipment, ensuring the missile systems remain available to the Air Force warfighter.

“KBRwyle has helped the military for decades to develop, field and sustain missile and space systems that are essential to national security,” Byron Bright, president of KBR Government Services U.S., said. “Our missile expertise, combined with our sustainment engineering capabilities, will enable us to assist the 414th Supply Chain Management Squadron in meeting its mission.”

The contract stems from the cost-plus-fixed-fee task order under the DoD’s Information Analysis Center’s (IAC) Defense Systems Technical Area Task (DSTAT) multi-award contract. KBRwyle won a seat on the DSTAT contract in June 2014.

Under the agreement, the work will be primarily performed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, officials said, as well as other locations around the country. The task order award period is 51 months.

The IAC program serves the DoD science & technology (S&T) and acquisition communities to drive innovation and technological developments by enhancing collaboration through integrated scientific and technical information development and dissemination.
