Engility distributes cybersecurity scholarships to four veterans

In partnership with the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, Engility Holdings, Inc. awarded four scholarships for its CyberWarrior program this summer.

The awarded veterans come from various branches of the United States military — Army, Air Force, and Navy — and are currently located in Colorado, New Hampshire, Maryland, and Germany. As part of the class, all four will be trained and certified for cybersecurity careers.

“We are honored to welcome a new generation of cybersecurity professionals who will help our nation meet the challenges of the future,” Lynn Dugle, Engility chairman, president and CEO, said. “By selecting veterans as scholarship recipients, we tap the passion, experience and desire to serve our country embodied by our men and women in uniform, and we equip them for a career in a critical-need, high-demand field.”

Such scholarships are distributed twice a year to honorably discharged veterans and active members of the National Guard or Reserves. Included in these scholarships are training courses, textbooks, materials and exam vouchers. The chosen recipients were awarded their scholarships at a presentation ceremony earlier this week.

From here, all four veterans will be taught advanced skill sets in the career field, to set them up with job opportunities among any of six related certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional, HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner, Certified Authorization Professional, and Systems Security Certified Practitioner.
