Xavier Morales named chief patrol agent for CBP’s Ramey Sector

The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) named last week Puerto Rican native Xavier Morales as the chief patrol agent of Ramey Sector — the organization’s only station outside the continental United States and within Puerto Rican borders.

Morales is a 24-year veteran of CBP, entering service in 1994 in the El Paso Sector. He transferred to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to serve as an immigration inspector of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in 1995, before moving on to leadership positions in the Border Patrol from 2000 onwards.

Since then, some of his titles have included Special Operations Supervisor, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent, and Patrol Agent in Charge. He has been working as Deputy Chief Patrol Agent of the sector since September 2016.

The Ramey Station is the only station within the Ramey Sector, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, established along with the sector on October of 1987.

Morales is also a U.S. Army veteran, a former officer of the Puerto Rico Police Department and a graduate of the School of Police Staff and Command at the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety.
