KBR affiliate lands Army IT contract

An affiliate of the cyber and electronic security solutions firm KBR, SGT, LLC, has landed a role in the $12.1 billion Army Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-3 (ITES-3) Services Contract.

SGT, LLC is a business unit of KBRwyle, which serves as KBR’s global government services business.

“This contract is an important opportunity for KBRwyle to expand on its existing technical and IT-related work with the U.S. Army,” Byron Bright, president of KBR Government Services U.S., said. “We understand the importance of technology-based solutions and on-demand access to information, and look forward to supplying these state-of-the-art IT services to support the warfighter and the Army’s global mission.”

The agreement calls for KBRwyle to offer solutions and support in several IT areas, per officials, noting the effort would include cybersecurity, integration, telecommunications, supply chain management and business process engineering while also directly assisting the Army in meeting its global infrastructure needs.

The contract has a base period of five years plus four option years and will be managed by the Army’s Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) program, which is expected to be the Army’s prime source of IT-related services worldwide.

KBR employs 34,000 people worldwide while servicing customers in more than 75 countries and operations in 40 countries across three synergistic global businesses: Government Services, Technology, and Hydrocarbons Services.
