New National Guard center announced in North Dakota

North Dakota officials are touting the benefits of a new, $32 million Army National Guard Readiness Center, which will house, support and train guard personnel.

“The North Dakota National Guard is always ready, always there,” Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND), a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee said during the facility’s recent groundbreaking. “We worked to secure $32 million to build this new Readiness Facility in Fargo, so our National Guard has the infrastructure and tools to fulfill their missions. This new Readiness Center will provide the Guard with space to house their equipment and complete training exercises to ensure that they continue their good work.”

The venue will support the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, the 191st Military Police Company, and the 112th Aviation Regiment.

The endeavor will ultimately accommodate the administrative, training and logistical needs for 309 Soldiers, 83 vehicles and other assigned equipment from the three Army National Guard units, with officials adding the project will total 156,064 square feet and include a 96,366-square-foot National Guard Readiness Center, a 59,698-square-foot enclosed vehicle storage facility, an entrance facility, a helipad, and other supporting facilities.
