Curtiss-Wright Corp., a global company that provides highly engineered products and services to defense, industrial, commercial, and energy clients, recently completed a $132 million cash acquisition of 901D Holdings.
901D designs and manufactures mission-critical integrated electronic systems, subsystems, and shipboard solutions for U.S. Navy shipbuilding programs. By adding 901D to its defense segment, Curtiss-Wright will be able to increase its U.S. Navy shipbuilding program capabilities and expand its instrumentation and control systems technologies.
“The combination of 901D’s proven track record and Curtiss-Wright’s state-of-the-art electronic systems and software capabilities will allow us to provide shipboard solutions on both nuclear and nonnuclear powered vessels, and ensures that we are well-positioned to benefit from the continued expansion of the U.S. naval fleet,” Curtiss-Wright said in a statement.
The acquisition is part of Curtiss-Wright’s goal to increased sales growth.
901D produces mission-critical applications that protect weapons systems, servers, and other hardware aboard major U.S. Navy surface ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers. The hardware is protected from electromagnetism, shock, thermal, and other harsh environments.
The company is a major supplier of MIL-SPEC ruggedized enclosure solutions and provides design configurations that match customers’ requirements.
Curtiss-Wright employs approximately 9,000 people globally, while 901D employs roughly 85 people.
