The U.S. Navy recently awarded Lockheed Martin a $13.9 million engineering services contract to continue supporting engineering and fielding efforts for the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP).
The contract is part of a five-year agreement that will total $75 million if all options are used.
“We are proud to continue providing the U.S. Navy with ongoing engineering services for the SEWIP program,” Hamid Salim, Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems vice president of Advanced Product Solutions, said. “Our partnership and commitment to the Navy and to keeping our warfighters safe is our number one priority. The SEWIP system enables electromagnetic spectrum dominance for our naval fleet.”
Lockheed Martin will provide multiple services, including the modification of systems, subsystems, and components for testing and evaluation; and engineering efforts to perform analysis and design.
Services will be performed at the electronic warfare center of excellence in Syracuse, New York.
Work will be performed on the AN/SLQ-32(V)6. The technology incorporates an antenna, an Electronic Support receiver, and combat system interface upgrades. Other components include a Liquid Conditioning Unit, the AN/SLA-10D blanker, the High Gain High Sensitivity adjunct sensor, and the Specific Emitter Identification adjunct sensor.
Lockheed Martin has provided more than 7,800 electronic warfare systems to the U.S. Military.
