Hollingsworth & Vose has secured a $2.2 million Department of Defense (DoD) contract to increase domestic ventilator and respirator production.
The effort involves producing 27.5 million N95 filters, and 3.1 million N95 respirators per monthly, beginning in August. The endeavor is in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The pact addresses manufacturing bottlenecks while expanding N95 mask production and ventilator use. The agreement has garnered White House Task Force approval while being facilitated by the DoD Joint Acquisition Task Force and using funds authorized and appropriated under the CARES Act.
The DoD has provided an allotment of nearly $2.5 billion in supplies and equipment to service members and federal agencies, partnering the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and HHS in the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hollingsworth & Vose is a family-owned company based in East Walpole, Massachusetts.
