The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security introduced a new website last week known as the COVID-19 Testing Toolkit to provide essential information on available tests, testing services, how they work, and how accurate they are for any interested organizations.

“For a lot of organizations, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the United States won’t supplant the need to come up with a testing plan this year,” Dr. Gigi Gronvall, an immunologist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, said. “We created a one-stop-shop with expert information and guidance because not every organization will want to think through the details of developing a testing strategy themselves. They may want to use a testing service or learn from others who have set up testing programs in organizations like theirs.”

The new website will also provide webinar series to help teach organizations about lessons learned from testing efforts. The differences between antigen and serology tests are discussed, along with the process involved in the Food and Drug Administration’s Emergency Use Authorizations. Both employers and decision-makers will be able to use the testing toolkit to create their own strategies for testing,

The website and its informational offerings were made possible by funding from Lyda Hill Philanthropies and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
