Renco Corporation has secured a $13.1 million contract via the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to bolster domestic nitrile gloves production.
Under the agreement, the initiative enables Renco to increase the production capacity of nitrile gloves in Colebrook, New Hampshire, establishing two high-speed dip lines or glove manufacturing equipment lines, as well as six additional Standard Indexing or traditional dip lines. The allotment is slated to increase nitrile glove production by 45.8 million units per month by July 2022, per authorities.
The scope of the agreement was spearheaded by the DOD’s Defense Assisted Acquisition Cell (DA2) in conjunction with the Department of the Air Force’s Acquisition COVID-19 Task Force (DAF ACT).
Additionally, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) funded the initiative via the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act as a means of supporting industrial base expansion for critical medical resources.
