Ravi Chaudhary sworn in as assistant secretary of the USAF for Energy, Installations and Environment

Air Force officials announced that Ravi Chaudhary has been sworn to duty as assistant secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment.

The recent ceremony at the Pentagon followed Chaudhary’s U.S. Senate confirmation on March 15. In his new position, Chaudhary will be responsible for the execution of plans, policies, programs, and budgets to meet the Department of the Air Force’s energy, installations, environment, safety, and occupational health objectives.

“A big congratulations to Ravi Chaudhary on his Senate confirmation,” Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall said. “We’re excited for his leadership in our energy, installations, and environment initiatives. Ravi’s experience serving in numerous government agencies, to include the Department of the Air Force as a pilot, space launch engineer, and acquisition officer, will be a major asset to our team as he steps into his new role.”

Chaudhary is a former C-17 Globemaster III pilot and Federal Aviation Administration executive. He most recently served as the acting deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for Energy.

Chaudhary also served as the Director of Advanced Programs and Innovation, Office of Commercial Space Transportation at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he provided technical leadership and oversight for the commercial space industry.
