The Georgia Army National Guard’s 111th Electromagnetic Warfare Company completed a field training exercise during WFX 25-05, a warfighter exercise held Aug. 14-17 in Dahlonega, Ga.
The exercise, Operation Golden Corridor, prepared participants for various electromagnetic warfare scenarios and included spectrum mapping, radio frequency detection and alternative radar awareness capabilities under austere conditions.
“The exercise is not only beneficial to electromagnetic warfare, but it’s also beneficial to aviation,” 2nd Lt. Austin Seidel, a 111th Electromagnetic Warfare Company platoon leader, said. “We were able to successfully test that today, doing high flying, low flying and terrain flights.”
The exercise supported the Indiana National Guard’s 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and covered emerging electromagnetic threats, demonstrating how cyber and electromagnetic activities can be leveraged in large-scale combat operations.
From July 28 to Aug. 10, 111th Electromagnetic Warfare Company provided a team of soldiers to the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team’s warfighter exercise.
111th Electromagnetic Warfare Company was officially activated in June and is based in Forest Park, Ga. It is comprised of 80 soldiers and is the only electromagnetic warfare company in the Army actively conducting operations and training.
