Virginia-based Northrop Grumman Corp. on Tuesday said it signed a memorandum of understanding with Hungary-based 4iG Space and Defence Technologies Ltd. to explore collaboration in counter-unmanned aerial systems, space and advanced weapons technologies.

The goal is to deepen transatlantic cooperation, enhance NATO’s capabilities through rapid innovation, and strengthen Europe’s sovereign defense industrial base.

“This collaboration with 4iG Space and Defence Technologies reinforces our commitment to expanding space and defense capabilities through trusted transatlantic partnerships,” Steve O’Bryan, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president and global business development officer, said. “Our combined expertise will deliver the speed, precision and resilience needed for today’s and tomorrow’s security challenges.”

István Sárhegyi, CEO of 4iG S&D, said that defense industry relations between the United States and Hungary play a key role within the NATO alliance. “The collaboration with Northrop Grumman, one of America’s leading defense companies, marks an important milestone in strengthening these ties. I am proud that this cooperation positions Hungary as a European partner and hub for selected technologies, contributing not only to the development of the Hungarian defense industry, but to Europe’s defense capabilities as a whole.”
