Symantec Endpoint Protection earns AV-TEST award for corporate products

Symantec Corp. announced on Friday that the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) won AV-TEST’s “Best Protection 2015 Award” for corporate products, and scored high performance grades in each of the award’s cyber security certification areas.

SEP consistently lead the field in the corporate product category and was able to score almost 100 percent in all six of AV-TEST’s performance categories.

“The corporate solution Symantec Endpoint Protection earned the Best Protection 2015 Award, consistently demonstrating impressive security protection in all tests,” Maik Morgenstern, AV-TEST’s CTO, said.

AV-TEST reviews and rates the effectiveness of anti-virus and anti-malware companies and programs. As part of AV-TEST’s evaluation process, the company subjects cyber security programs to more than 1,000 live zero-day attacks delivered via infected websites and emails.

In the rapidly evolving field of cyber security, SEP is unique in that it utilizes technology that adapts with threats, allowing it to effectively prevent access to endpoints that would not have been protected other wise.

“Symantec’s intelligent next generation endpoint protection uses advanced machine learning to immediately block abnormal behaviors in real time and stop targeted attacks,” Amit Jasuja, senior vice president of product development at Symantec, said. “Plus, it’s backed by the world’s largest civilian threat intelligence network, so it blocks rapidly mutating malware and zero-day threats without impacting performance.”
