Scott named new chief patrol agent for El Centro Sector Border Patrol

The El Centro Border Patrol announced on Thursday that Rodney S. Scott has been appointed as the new chief border patrol agent.

The previous chief agent, Carla Provost, was promoted to deputy assistant commissioner for Customs and Border Patrol, Internal Affairs and relocated to Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining El Centro, Scott served in the San Diego Sector Border Patrol where he held the positions of assistant chief patrol agent, patrol agent in charge of the Brown Field Station and deputy chief patrol agency of the San Diego Sector.

“I am elated to assume command of the El Centro Sector,” Scott said. “I look forward to providing leadership and guidance to the men and women of the El Centro Sector, and I am confident that the strong law enforcement and community presence the Border Patrol has in the Imperial Valley will continue to grow.”

Scott will manage more than 1,000 law enforcement agents and support staff and will have direct operational oversight of three border patrol stations. The El Centro Sector is set within the Imperial Valley of California, an area of that spans 70 miles along the border with Mexico.
