Harris CapRock debuts new SafePass Pro

Harris CapRock Communications announced on Thursday the launch of its SafePass Pro software, which is an advanced cyber security solution for proactive defense against cyber attacks targeting oil and gas IT infrastructures.

The cyber security platform features Alert Logic threat monitoring services. The Alert Logic Threat Manager works to allow network intrusion monitoring and detection and features a vulnerability scanner, while the system’s firewall protection supports URL filtering, application filtering and security.

Harris CapRock customers also have access to the company’s robust, industry-leading cyber security experts to pinpoint system vulnerabilities, monitor insider information, and proactively identify and defend against threats to the network.

The company estimated that hacks and other forms of cyber attacks will have cost the global energy industry more than $1.9 billion by 2018.

SafePass Pro works to improve the quality of network resources, minimize malware and spyware, enable centralized control across all sites, enforce acceptable use and security policies, and create opportunities to assess and eliminate network vulnerabilities

“Security breaches and emerging threats to corporate networks are impacting the oil and gas market with greater cost and frequency as offshore operations rely more heavily on always-on communications networks,” Tracey Haslam, president at Harris CapRock, said. “SafePass Pro offers an unparalleled approach to cyber protection with the added ability of working with Harris cyber security experts committed to securing critical government networks.”
