ISACA, State Grid of China sign strategic IT governance agreement

The Beijing China Power Information Technology Company Limited (China Power), a subsidiary to the State Grid Corporation of China, signed a strategic agreement on Wednesday with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

The agreement stipulates that the two organizations will establish an IT governance information center for the energy industry to jointly promote the development of IT governance in the power industry.

“By collaborating with State Grid and China Power to establish the center for IT governance innovation, we will equip organizations in the Chinese power industry with the tools and education they need to improve business performance through effective governance of information and technology,” Matt Loeb, CEO for ISACA, said. “We look forward to this cooperation and the business impact it will have.”

IT governance assist enterprise in achieving business goals and maximizing profits by utilizing information technology to analyze risks and benefits in decision making. By developing a national IT infrastructure, IT governance helps state companies achieve their mission of servicing the overall national economic output.

ISACA is a global nonprofit association of more than 140,000 professionals working in more than 180 countries that engages in the development, adoption and use of globally-accepted practices of information systems.
