Raytheon Company officially opened its newest cyber campus facility on Monday in Augusta, Georgia to deliver a wide range of cybersecurity capabilities to the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Army Cyber Command as it continues its transition to Fort Gordon.
“Our DoD customers have come to rely on Raytheon to solve their toughest cybersecurity challenges – from cyber hardening to computer network defense and training,” Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s Intelligence, Information and Services business, said. “Building our presence in Augusta allows us to strengthen our partnership with the Army’s new Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon.”
The U.S. Army projects that the move to Fort Gordon will add 2,600 military, 900 civilian and 200 contractor jobs to Fort Gordon’s workforce by 2019, while boosting the post’s student population annually by approximately 500 service members. Fort Gordon is one of the few military installations that is expected to grow over the next few years. The U.S. Army will also continue to build the Army Cyber branch and school.
