Guardtime Federal expanded its contract with Lockheed Martin to integrate a variety of cyber-related capabilities into Lockheed Martin aircraft products and processes.
The new contract will focus on reducing the attack surface of the information supply chain that forwards information to and from operational aircraft systems. Guardtime Federal, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is a data delivery firm for the U.S. National Security market, working with the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and others.
Lockheed Martin was the first U.S. defense contractor to use blockchain technology as part of its cyber safe strategy.
“We continue to integrate new cybersecurity approaches across our portfolio of aeronautics programs,” Ron Bessire, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Engineering and Technology vice president, said. “Our collaboration with Guardtime Federal continues to yield fresh new approaches to solve the lingering challenges that more traditional technical solutions have not solved.”
Guardtime Federal produces tools that go beyond conventional firewall protections. They focus on the integrity and origin of any digital element.
