Lockheed Martin recently opened its All-Up Round III (AUR III) facility at Camden Operations in Arkansas, which will increase PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) production capacity.
“Lockheed Martin’s Camden Operations is a world-class facility with an exceptional team dedicated to supporting mission success for our customers,” Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Executive Vice President Scott Greene said. “We are honored to build on this legacy through the expansion and remain committed to delivering innovative products and solutions for our country and our allied nations.”
The MSE is the world’s most advanced air defense missile.
The 85,000-square-foot site expansion supports increased production capacity amid contributing components and performing final assembly for several key Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Precision Fires products.
“Lockheed Martin is a critical member of the defense industry in Arkansas,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson said. “Their dedication to Camden, our state and nation, and American allies makes Arkansas proud to be their partner. Congratulations to Lockheed Martin on their expansion, and I look forward to their continued success in the Natural State.”
Lockheed Martin presently produces over 300 PAC-3 MSEs annually and is expected to increase the number to 500 PAC-3 MSEs, per officials.
The PAC-3 MSE possesses a dual-pulse solid rocket motor providing increased performance in altitude and range to defend against incoming threats that include tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft, authorities cited.
