Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials said the agency has initiated a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) new hire incentive program to attract more Denver International Airport (DEN) applicants.

Full and part-time positions are available with a starting wage of $24.23 per hour, and TSA will pay newly-hired TSOs $2,500 upon starting with the agency and $2,500 after one year of TSA service.

“Over the past few months, TSA has successfully hired additional TSOs work at DEN, but we have the capacity and need to hire more,” TSA Colorado Federal Security Director Larry Nau said. “That is why we continue to host recruitment sessions to expand our security team locally. A career in the federal government provides steady employment and the opportunity for growth and promotion. Consider joining our established team of security professionals at one of the country’s fastest-growing and top airports.”

TSO benefits include paid training, annual and sick leave, health care plans for full and part-time employees, a 401k retirement plan, and eligibility for up to $5,000 annually in college tuition reimbursement.

The TSA noted applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields. New hire TSOs will undergo two weeks of standardized training with other recently hired TSOs nationwide.
