The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) has awarded defense services firm Curtiss-Wright Corporation a contract to provide a Wideband Satellite-Expeditionary (MCWS-X) program Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) baseband system.
“As a leading supplier of tactical battlefield communications solutions, we are very proud to provide the Marine Corps with our proven field-deployable network communications technology to support the MCWS-X program,” Curtiss-Wright Corporation Chair and CEO Lynn M. Bamford said. “This contract further strengthens the long and successful relationship we have with the USMC and highlights Curtiss-Wright’s ability to enhance interoperability and improve cost efficiencies with electronics systems that adhere to the DoD’s mandate for solutions based on the Modular Open Systems Approach.”
The scope of work calls for Curtiss-Wright to produce small form factor network routers and switch modules to support communications modernization with highly portable expeditionary network communications technology, performing the work within its Defense Solutions division in the Defense Electronics segment.
Curtiss-Wright indicated the firm provides highly engineered products, solutions, and services primarily to aerospace and defense markets, as well as critical technologies in commercial power, process, and industrial markets.
