U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents stationed at the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) arrested four wanted fugitives on Tuesday.
CBP agents at IAD apprehended Omar Mahamed Abdulahi on larceny and assault charges as he prepared to depart the U.S. for Switzerland. Agents also arrested Adonia Nseudi on second degree assault charges after he arrived on a flight from Belgium. CBP agents subsequently turned both fugitives over to the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police.
CBP agents stationed at BWI apprehended Raha Robinson on rape allegations when he returned to the U.S. from Germany. Robinson was turned over to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. Agents also arrested Scott Lewis for a probation violation on a traffic violation after Lewis arrived from the Dominican Republic. Lewis was turned over to the Hartford County Sheriff’s deputies.
“As the nation’s border security agency, Customs and Border Protection sometimes encounter travelers with outstanding arrest warrants and returns them to face their charges,” Augustine Moore, director of CBP’s Baltimore Field Operations, said. “These warrant arrests are examples of CBP’s collaboration with our law enforcement partners to protect victims’ rights, return fugitives to justice, and to help keep our communities safe.”
CBP officers were able to make the arrests by examining passenger manifests on arriving international flights before the flights landed.
