Johnson swears in new members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson met with the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) last week, swearing in the two newest members to HSAC, Michael A. Nutter and Christian P. Marrone.

“With one year left in this administration, I intend to get a lot done and I have given our senior staff very specific goals and timelines for accomplishments,” Johnson said. “My principal priority is to leave the Department of Homeland Security in a better place than we found it so that it functions better, more effectively and more efficiently in delivering our homeland security services for the American people.”

Nutter is a two-term mayor of Philadelphia. First elected in 2007, he worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security on the operational and contingency planning for the September Papal visit that was designated as a National Special Security Event.

Marrone recently joined CSRA, Inc., as a vice president of government relations. Marrone is responsible for executing the company’s strategy for strengthening relationships across the U.S. government. Marrone previously served as the chief of staff of the DHS for Secretary Johnson for the past two years.
