CBP opening London Global Entry enrollment center

A Global Entry enrollment center will be opened for 60 days in London at the U.S. Embassy by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) beginning on Sept. 26.

The CBP Trust Traveler’s Program’s Global Entry Applicants program allows for expedited clearance of preapproved, low-risk travelers. Approximately five million Britons traveled to the U.S. in Fiscal Year 2016, with more than 125,000 visiting the U.S. on four or more occasions.

CBP announced in December that, following a successful pilot program that started in 2011, U.K. citizens could apply for Global Entry. Currently, more than 8,800 citizens of the U.K. are enrolled in Global Entry.

Applicants who have been conditionally-approved may now register on the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES) website for an interview with a CBP at the London location. The London enrollment center will remain open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with CBP officers interviewing only those applicants who have appointments.

Global Entry is available at 49 U.S. airports and 13 preclearance locations. The program serves to streamline the screening process for trusted travelers at airports and allows members to bypass traditional CBP inspection lines to use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the U.S.

To date, more than 3.1 million members have been enrolled in the Global Entry program, with CBP receiving approximately 100,000 new applicants for the program each month. Global Entry members are also eligible to participate in the TSA’s Pre-Check expedited screening program.
