The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) recently publicly committed to the National Cyber Security Alliance’s (NCSA) internet safety and security initiative called “Lock Down Your Login.”
The initiative was announced by the White House earlier this year and to help Americans better protect their passwords and sensitive online information. The campaign is part of the White House’s Cybersecurity National Action Plan.
“The financial services sector is constantly preparing to protect against and respond to cyber threats,” Chris Feeney, president of the technology policy division (BITS) of the FSR, said. “FSR is proud to partner with the White House on the Lock Down Your Login campaign to increase consumer cybersecurity awareness and help protect more Americans from evolving threats.”
The initiative is part of a coordinated campaign to increase awareness of individual roles in cybersecurity.
“We live in a digital age where people, networks and devices are increasingly interconnected, and the more internet users who enable strong authentication, the safer we will all be online,” Michael Kaiser, executive director of the NCSA, said. “We are thankful to our Lock Down Your Login sponsors and partner organizations for their support and commitment to our shared responsibility of promoting cybersecurity and helping to create a safer, more secure and trusted internet.”
