Leidos was recently awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide systems administration and maintenance services for X-ray and imaging technology.
The hybrid firm, fixed-price time and materials contract covers a one-year base period of performance and includes four additional one-year options for renewal. The contract is valued at up to $155 million if all options are exercised.
“We are pleased to continue our support of the CBP mission by providing critical administration and maintenance services,” Tim Reardon, president of Leidos Intelligence and Homeland Security division, said. “Through our efforts, the CBP will be better able to secure land border crossings, airports, seaports, and rail crossings within the United States and abroad.”
In an effort to assist CBP in securing the nation’s borders, Leidos will provide post-warranty support for fielded technology. The contract included non-intrusive inspection gamma imaging and x-ray equipment such as Leidos’ VACIS inspection systems, radiation portal monitors and radiation isotope identification devices.
