Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) was recently awarded a contract by the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center to support the Joint Staff J6 Directorate’s command, control, communications and computers (C4), and cyber program.
The contract covers a five-year period of performance with a total value of approximately $156 million. Under the contract, McLean, Virginia-based SAIC will provide analytical engineering, program management and technical support to the directorate’s Cyber/C4 program.
SAIC was selected as one of five awardees, with work being conducted in Norfolk, Virginia; Suffolk, Virginia; Arlington, Virginia; Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; and various contractor facilities.
The Joint Staff Chiefs of Staff is comprised of the chairman, the vice chairman, the chief of staff of the Army, the chief of Naval Operations, the chief of staff of the Air Force, the commandant of the Marine Corps and the chief of the National Guard Bureau.
The Joint Staff J6 promotes guidance and provides functional expertise to its chairman to shape its information environment. Its primary mission is to serve the chairman and develop C4 and cyber capability requirements to deliver a sustained information advantage and ensure warfighters receive jointly integrated capabilities necessary to conduct operations.
