FLIR Systems introduces five new thermal imaging cameras at CES

FLIR Systems, Inc. recently launched five new thermal imaging cameras at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The cameras include two new third generation FLIR ONE thermal camera attachments for smartphones, two dual-sensor thermal cameras from drones, and one ruggedized compact thermal camera for building inspectors.

Each camera features a thermal microcamera core, called FLIR Lepton, the company’s patented multispectral dynamic imaging technology. The company said the additions will improve image quality and readability by embossing high-fidelity, visible light details onto thermal imagery.

“These innovative new thermal imaging devices further extend the utility and value of low-cost thermal imaging into consumer and small business applications,” FLIR President and CEO Andy Teich said. “Thermal imaging is more accessible than ever today thanks to our continued effort to make the technology smaller, more powerful and more affordable.

FLIR ONE is the company’s newest smartphone thermal imaging device iteration that can attach to both iPhone and Android devices. It features a OneFit adjustable-height connector that includes a USB-C version for Android devices. It can also be attached without the user removing their phone’s protective case. The more advanced model, FLIR ONE Pro, features a ruggedized design and is intended for professionals who use thermal imaging for their work needs.

The FLIR Duo represents the drone industry’s first multi-sensor camera that includes the company’s Lepton thermal microcamera core, a 1080p visible camera, and its patented MSX technology. FLIR’s premium model, FLIR Duo R, adds accurate temperature measurement capabilities for commercial applications.

The FLIR C3 device is designed for home inspectors, real estate professionals, general contractors, and trade professionals. The ruggedized, pocket-sized thermal camera can pinpoint hidden electrical, energy efficiency, or moisture issues.
