Battelle names Sharon Hardie as director of congressional affairs

Battelle recently appointed Sharon Hardie as the company’s new director of congressional affairs, where she will work with members of Congress on important policy issues related to research and development in national security, cybersecurity, and infrastructure initiatives.

“We’re pleased to have someone of Sharon’s caliber joining Battelle,” Battelle’s Senior Vice President for Contract Research Steve Kelly said. “Her experience with government agencies and the legislative branch, in addition to her private sector work, align well with Battelle’s mission and priorities.”

Prior to joining Battelle, Hardie consulted for the Blauvelt Group in Alexandria, Virginia where she led government affairs strategy and positioning for defense, intelligence and cybersecurity issues. Hardie also spent time at BAE Systems, Inc and General Dynamics Corporation.

Hardie has also worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and for the U.S. House of Representatives. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Niagara University.

Battelle is a research and development company that serves both government and commercial customers.
