Immigration and Customs Enforcement launches new hiring web content, Twitter feed

In an effort to hire 10,000 new employees as directed by a presidential executive order, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently created an enhanced careers section on its website as well as a Twitter feed for career information.

The new website content provides detailed information about ICE directorates, career tracks, job descriptions, employment requirements, application processes and employee benefits and is designed to help candidates easily apply for jobs with ICE.

The Twitter feed, @ICEgovCareers, will exclusively feature job-related content such as information about recruiting events and new job openings. Interested candidates can also sign up to have new opportunities and career news emailed to them.

“The new careers section on ICE.gov is a valuable tool in our agency’s toolkit for attracting the best employees,” Acting Director Thomas D. Homan said. “ICE is putting comprehensive and accurate information about our important mission and work out to the public. I expect that transparency will draw in serious and quality employees.”

President Trump’s executive order Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States directs ICE to hire an additional 10,000 law enforcement positions in the coming years.

The organization currently has approximately 20,000 employees. In fiscal year 2017, ICE hired approximately 1,300 new employees across all job fields and expect to fill another 100 positions by the end of this fiscal year.
