Raytheon Co.’s intelligence, information and service business recently allied with HawkEye 360 to focus on providing innovative commercial technologies and precision data to the government.
The alliance includes investment in HawkEye 360 and gives Raytheon access to data that will enhance its analytics services for government customers.
Raytheon specializes in defense, civil government and cybersecurity solutions, such as mission support, mission systems integration, and state-of-the-art electronics. HawkEye 360 is a data analytics company developing Pathfinder, a commercial satellite system to identify, geolocate, and process a broad set of radio frequency signals. It serves commercial and government customers.
“Our plan is to fuse HawkEye 360’s geospatial information with other relevant data sources, further augmenting the intelligence we provide to our U.S. and international customers,” Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, said. “Similar to our alliances with other commercial companies, HawkEye 360’s constellation will offer our customers advanced capabilities – in this case, expanded coverage and deeper insights – and importantly, at a lower cost.”
A cluster of three small Pathfinder satellites will launch at the end of the year. Additional clusters are planned through 2020. When completed, the constellation will deliver customizable high-precision radio frequency mapping and location-based analytics for applications.
