Air Force officials said the branch has awarded a $91.8 million task order to KBR, Inc. to provide engineering services for aircraft and other system components.

The scope of work will involve elements managed by the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing (SCMW), focusing on research, analysis, and solutions development.

“This is an exciting opportunity to bring our engineering expertise to the 448th SCMW as we continue to develop and deliver cost-effective solutions to the warfighter community,” Byron Bright, KBR President, Government Solutions, said. “Our work will directly address key performance attributes for reliability, maintainability and supply chain performance, thereby increasing overall effectiveness for the Air Force.”

The agreement was reached via the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Analysis Center’s (IAC) Multiple Award Contract. KBR is slated to identify and develop Air Force solutions addressing Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues associated with increasing aircraft age while also providing engineering analyses of electronic warfare systems and components.

KBR will execute duties in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Utah, in addition to other locations over the next five years, indicating the company has performed similar tasking for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Command (AFLCMC) since 2005.

The DoD IAC provides technical data management and research support for DoD and federal government users.
