Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) made 32,809 enforcement arrests during the first 50 days of President Donald Trump’s second administration.
The arrests include 14,111 convicted criminals, 9,980 people with pending criminal charges, 1,155 criminal gang members and 39 known or suspected terrorists.
The numbers include at-large arrests as well as arrests through the Criminal Alien Program and the 287g partnership program.
“We have deported known terrorists, cartel members, and gang members from our country,” Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a statement. “We will see the number of deportations continue to rise. And illegal immigrants have the option to self-deport and come back LEGALLY in the future. And our team at ICE will help us continue moving forward to make America SAFE again.”
During fiscal year 2024, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations made 33,242 at-large arrests including 483 criminal gang members and 14 known or suspected terrorists.
In the wake of the arrests, ICE has run out of room in its detention facilities to house the arrestees. Approximately 47,000 beds are in use. The agency is working in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Prisons to find additional space and has urged Congress to approve more funding for housing.
