The U.S. Army recently signed a $80 million contract with Collins Aerospace, an integrated and intelligent solutions provider for the global aerospace and defense industry, to upgrade Black Hawk helicopters’ avionics system for the H-60M MOSA Avionics Architecture Solution program.
The upgrade will create commonality across the Army’s current and future fleet of manned and unmanned aircraft and includes Collins’ Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)-compliant products, Mosarc.
“Mosarc will provide U.S. Army Black Hawk cockpits with an open systems architecture, enabling swift integration of new capabilities to keep pace with modern operational demands,” Jenny Miller, Collins Aerospace Military Avionics and Helicopters vice president and general manager, said. “Not only is the system’s interoperability vital for joint and coalition operations, but Mosarc will also allow the rapid deployment of technology to respond in quickly changing environments and help keep these aircraft relevant for decades to come.”
Collins Aerospace is an RTX business, employing 80,000 people. It provides technologies that advance sustainable and connected aviation, passenger safety and comfort, mission success, and space exploration.
