The U.S. Army recently awarded global defense technology company Lockheed Martin an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract worth up to $4.94 billion.

The contract is for the production of additional Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), a solution designed to provide a warfighter with unparalleled capability in the battlespace.

PrSM is the Army’s next-generation, advanced surface-to-surface, long-range, precision strike missile and is capable of neutralizing targets beyond 248.55 miles. It features an open systems architecture design for maximum flexibility, modularity for future growth, and compatibility with HIMARS and Multiple Launch Rocket System platforms.

The contract significantly increases PrSM production capacity to meet growing demand and reaffirms Lockheed Martin’s commitment to delivering innovative, combat-proven solutions that support the Army’s modernization efforts and ensure that warfighters remain ahead of emerging threats.

“Lockheed Martin is committed to delivering this deterrent capability in support of the Army’s vision for a lethal and resilient force,” Carolyn Orzechowski, Lockheed Martin vice president of precision fires launchers and missiles, said. “Our team remains focused on advancing the production at speed and scale, ensuring the warfighter receives this critical capability to maintain peace through strength.”

The company’s use of digital tools drives product development and improves producibility, quality, and performance.
