The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is offering a stipend of $1,000 to every illegal alien who self-deports. Aliens would receive payment after their return to their home countries is confirmed through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home App.
“If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest,” Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said. “DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country through the CBP Home App. This is the safest option for our law enforcement, aliens and is a 70 percent savings for U.S. taxpayers. Download the CBP Home App today and self-deport.”
Illegal aliens who want to accept the offer must submit an intent to depart via the CBP Home app. Those who do will be deprioritized for detention and removal so long as they make meaningful strides to complete their departure. They also may have the option to re-enter the United States legally in the future.
Recently, an illegal alien received a ticket for a flight from Chicago to Honduras.
It costs the U.S. government an average of $17,121 to arrest, detain, and remove an illegal alien.
