Stephen Casapulla, former Director for Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity in the Office of the National Cyber Director, will serve as the Executive Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced Tuesday.
Casapulla comes to the position with more than 13 years of experience at CISA and prior federal service work at the Small Business Administration and the U.S. State Department in Iraq. A member of the U.S. Navy Reserve, he also has more than 20 years of service with the military and has had multiple overseas deployments, officials said.
“I am pleased to have Steve expand his role on CISA’s leadership team,” Acting Director Madhu Gottumukkala said. “With his extensive experience in critical infrastructure security and working with stakeholders, he is perfectly poised to lead our efforts in securing the nation’s critical infrastructure. I look forward to working with him on this important mission.”
Casapulla will continue to serve as the Interim Assistant Director for the CISA’s National Risk Management Center and as its Acting Chief Strategy Officer, in addition to his new duties, officials said.
“I’m honored to take on this critical role at CISA and deeply appreciate the trust placed in me by President Trump and Secretary Noem,” Casapulla said. “I am committed to advancing CISA’s mission and ensuring the security and resilience of our nation’s critical infrastructure and the American people.”
